Through AILA inquiry, I came to know my case details:
CIS electronic records indicate that your case have moved from the
security review area to the Case Resolution Unit(CRU). Will check
with supervisors of the CRU to find out what is going on with these cases
and if they can be routed to exams to be worked".
What does it mean ? What is happening in CRU ?
Internet refers CRU handles if case has multiple "A" nos or receipt notice delays....I filed only one I-485 application five years back.....

I applied for I485 like many others in July. I just heard my group may be spun off from its parent company and might be funded by VCs. Does this mean I cannot use my LC/I140? If/When I get my EAD will it be valid?

No big deal....It does not affect you as long as your job is still same. The new company will take over your labour and I140 and you should be fine

TSC 485 processing date says Aug 17,2007.
Does it mean, they reviewed almost all cases before Aug 16,2007?
My receipt date is Aug 13,2007. Notice date is Oct 10,2007.
So wondering whether they touched my case or still not?

Hi,
I am asking this for my sister who is working under J1 (start in October 2007 and valid for 1 year). She already get a J1 visa stamp and re-enter US as J1 status
1. Change of employer is not permissible in J1. Can she submit a new J1 petition and thus ending her current J1 petition early?
2. How about the 2-year home residency requirement (HRR)? Does she need a waiver for the current J1 she is doing now OR can she satisfy the HRR after she finishes with the new J1? The new J1 will not end later than the current J1. So, practically she will be in J1 for 1 year only.
3. Does she need to get another J1 visa stamp and re-enter the US?

I've got some questions/comment to understand your situation
1. How do you know it is stuck in security check? What is your attorney's suggestion
For regular EB applications you can apply for 485 when priority date is current
2. EAD is generally adjudicated within 90 days
3. She should have a visa of her own - if she cannot be your dependant

Current: Company A (Has filed for h1 extention on May 1 under normal processing)
Future: Company B (Has filed for Transfer under Premium Processing as of May 6)
Currently employed with A. Company B lawyer has filed a transfer on May 6 Premium Process.(I believe current status is LCA is under process).
I plan to resign on May 21 with A and travel abroad to Dubai On May 22. Will be back on June3 to usa

We got something similar. I have seen other posts in the forums but can't find them now. I would suggest you go for the fingerprints/biometrics and be done with it. Don't give them an excuse to actually implement "if you don't show up, your application will be considered abandoned".

Hi,
My H1B is with USCIS and my employer has received an intent to revoke.
I am planning to go on H4 and my questions are
1) Can my employer file for a new H1B ANYTIME regardless of whether my H1B is revoked or not? I heard that since i am already counted against the cap, it doesnt matter when the H1B is filed, once approved i could start work immediately. Is this true?
Or this can be done only till my earlier H1B is not revoked? And if revoked i will have to file H1B against the 2011 quota and start work from October?
Appreciate any response!!

Now, we applied I-485 for both of us on July 1st
But our attorney did not file for EAD/AP, because of time constraints.
Is it ok for her to start working using the H1 from Oct 1st?

Hi, me and my wife we both r on H1b. My wife works with a solution & service LLC.say company A, now the owner is ready to start a new company, say B,with my wife as partner. She will be just passive investor in the company and getting profits, if any from company B. Can she still work full time with company A?. Consider a consultant-only company where all employee work on client projects and all got EAD and can change employer anytime they want. What happens if everyone leave the company after 180 days and you (and few other) still continue. As this will have great impact on company balance sheet how this may effect final GC approval of those still continue? Most of us will have to wait 3-4 years before we get GC approved. Can it cause any problem or RFE? Or I-140 approval must be enough to show that employer is able to support the employee after GC approval. Just a thought.

Apparently Obama wants to choose his fights and knows that a bad bill, like S-9 will sink his popularity and the chances of getting what he feels is more significant legislation passed (Health Care). I received my 485 approval back in April 2008 & also received my physical card in next few months. I applied for my parents extension last month ( I-539) who are here for visit. It was filed in CA. My last H1B was approved in Oct 2007 from CA. Today to my surprise I see updates in extension case with no message change but update in my H1B approved case, with message saying that this case is reopened & the decision is being reviewed.
I think this is some kind of error. Has anyone experienced this ?
