Maybe it would be eating and sleeping... if they get bored with that they might approve 1 or 2 cases.

One of our customer is a large multinational company that has hired a few interns to convert huge stacks of paper files into electronic format by manually entering data into the system. These paper files go back decades, and these 5-6 interns have been making great progress.
In contrast, how long does it take to enter 300K cases into the system? Besides, if they have hired about 100 additional people or so, why are they using case reviewers to enter data? Can't they use interns to perform such low-skill job while continuing to use reviewers to perform their primary task?

Some people are abusing (by misguidence of few lawyers, as they claim GC is for future job) AC21, without even working for single day with sponser, trying to get GC. USCIS may be controlling that kind of abuse.
Now, if the visa numbers are continously available (for example EB1, EB2-ROW) USCIS is approving 485 within 6 months, except july 07 fiasco surge. So now AC21 users are only those who suffers in retrogression, not by USCIS administartive delay. That may be the another reason why USCIS becoming hard on AC21.

Changing interpretation of a rule they made, that too without notice is unfair and maybe even unlawful.

Considering our opportunity cost, many of us may be better off packing our bags and heading back - this may have an impact on the feds, the companies and people at large who think that WE are a burden on the society. All these artificial barriers and hurdles are a reflection of this.
Its quite apparent that there is no end game in sight, there is no motive here(ref to subash and gandhi message by asharda), no end game...it can only get worse. The Feds have succeed in Scr....wing US.
bottom line - Do we really add value to the society here?
convince the people and this will be the ONLY solution to our problems.

if the orignial post on this thread is really true, then eb2/eb3 india/china with p.d. older newer than 2002 should basically pack whatever they have so far and leave... is that a fair reading? does anyone care to ammend my statement to perhaps "newer than 2003 [or 2005]"?

I will agree with you partially, you're right, big corporates can make a difference, but I said partially because I feel we are more powerful than the corporates. Look at the numbers, inspite of atleast 350,000 applications stuck in Labor Backlogs & other 200,000 people waiting to file their adjustment of status, we just have 1200 members. So there are only 1-2 % people who thinks they or their fellow citizens can do something. If even 20% of this population start making noise, you'll have a different opinion...

I am trying to pay thru PNC Bank. When trying to add IV, there are 2 options. One is With number and the second Without number.

I think it would be without a number. Now that depends on which number? If they need an account number then, yes no account number OR you could use your IV handle as the account number. Different banks have different methods of BILL PAY.

Assuming it takes longer than 12 months, what are the options here? I would like to understand what AC21 says. Is having an EAD a precondition of using the AC21 provision i.e. does it say -
"an employee after 6 months of filing 485 AND having an EAD in hand can switch jobs"
or does it say
"6 months after filing 485, the employee can switch"

Our organization has to steer clear of the landmine issues like Medicare, Social Security reform. Those issues have sank many political careers in washington...These issues are tar pits..swamps...
We are threading a needle here...the thicker your thread gets..the less likely it would get through the needle hole..
We have to maintain focus and not get carried away.

There was a campaign on wrongful denial in AC21 , there was also letter campaign not sure what happened after that ? It was IV action item too... What was the conclusion ? should we all suffer even if it is a training issue, if they act such nice on letters , then why they act as if there is no form and if AC21 is for real aliens from a real alien world.

Please make more noise on these kinds of issues concerned with I-140 withdrawls and I-485 denials, as this is becoming more and more apparent. Write blogs, spread in forums, write news letters. Go to your local congressman's office and make them aware of the situation. My local congresswoman's office is under the impression that my case is unique, but I am trying to convince them that this is wide spread by sending them the links of Ombudsman etc.,
We need to increase the awareness.
We do not want to get to a point where we may not utilize AC21 properly.

H1 status ends once u start using EAD (This happens after u file I9 with employer) Once you start working using EAD card, you cannot maintain h1b status at the same time.

First of all why do U wanna ask that? Its an employment based visa that ur GC is based on. So, ur employer shud ask that. Why are u asking IVans to do something which is not in their control??? I keep getting red and dont mind if I'm banned. But excuse me...u r misleading IVans. My point is this. We can protest, rally based on the delay. Thats pretty much we can do. Inquiring into a Government agency's internal affairs is none of ur business. And I repeat u dont have any rights to do that as u have NO direct link to USCIS. My husband's I-140 is pending at TSC for an year now and employer is not agreeing to sign on form 7001. Can we send an e-mail to Omburdsman and expect some action to be taken?? does it help?
