Repenting that i miised the chance, and should have applied at that time.
Even if you had applied then when single, no difference my friend.
One still needs to retain the H1 so their dependants could have the H4. So, until the dates open up again there is no end in sight for the other benefits such as EAD etc.
If it is any solace, you actually did not miss the boat!

1. The days of an immigrant waiting to buy a house until he gets his GC have gone. These days H1Bs r buying homes left and right. More than settling, they look at it as a business prospect. I know atleast 5 guys who r still waiting in the wings who've bought homes. Look, u know u r gonna wait until GC and u know u will get ur GC...so why not buy a house? There may be a few who'd be pessimistic about their GC applications and wud think twice b4 making a huge investment and AFAIK, that percentage is very less.

The USCIS automated line for Priority dates is still playing the PD's for June 2007 showing that EB-3 India cut off June 1st 2003 etc..
We have so contrasting images of the efficiency of USCIS. Hope they keep the same tempo as of the last week of June on Oct 1st when the FY 2008 quota kicks in.

The report shows 144,000 PERMs between March 28, 2005 - June 1, 2007 (NOT between oct 2006- march 2007). That i sover a period of 2years and 4 months. This is not bad as we all are thinking

PERM is only for the Primary applicant. For I-485 every dependent of Primary applicant needs one separate application
Considering all these 750,000 I-485 filings in next 1 month sounds a reasonable estimate.

EB-3 I wake up and send the letter out..we need to make relevant authorities aware of our situation. Uncertanity and doom stares us come on EB-3 I lets see some action!

In your letter, the subject line is "Employment Based (EB-3) green card applicants waiting over a Decade"
How it be a decade, when your PD is 2001 or later? Even for EB-2, the wait time is 4-5 years.
Your letter should be based on facts and not on emotions (that, usually, tends to cloud the good judgment)

Hi guys,
In my college days, I was returning to Varanasi(ITBHU) after spending Holi at my Aunts place in Delhi. It was warm, so I tried with all my might to open the stuck glass window next to me. I tried and tried, gave up... only to try again, to open the damned window. Finally, with help from my neighbours I was able to get the window open. Nice cool air came in. Everything was perfect. Then suddenly it happened. The train was entering Ghaziabad, there were these slumdogs aiming cow dung at the train. Needless to say, I got hit and totally covered with shit literally. :eek:
Here I am again trying hard to open the window of opportunity... GC, for the fresh air of freedom to enter my life.
Is all this delay a blessing in disguise? Food 4 thought.
