I do not have updates�I wish I did. Like most people in these forums I am waiting for miracle to happen�.which probably will not happen.
To me it seems like that the members are doing there part, i.e. sending emails, making phone calls etc. But it looks like our numbers are not enough to make a change in the policy.
what kind of a number will really have an impact? 25K?

It does not make a difference to America, if a few hundred thousand foreign workers get their GCs today or 10 years later. The people America would really be concerned about are outstanding researchers, but then these people fall in the EB1 category which is always current and so they have no cause for complaint. The other category that the US is concerned about is cheap and illegal labor, but that is not related to GCs. So in short, there is nothing about the Eb2/Eb3 GC backlog that America needs to worry about.
The delay causes anxiety & frustration only for us applicants. So the impact is only on us.
America is not bothered about losing outstanding researchers.

Other than the visa recapture, I guess at this point there isn't a whole lot we can do. I guess when we applied for GC we basically pawned our life to USCIS.
It is kind of sad that when they had visa available they weren't able to approve the cases before April '03. Pathetic!!
Enough of venting.... hopefully things might work out for the better this year!

thanks! thats encouraging..they already gave us a conditional approval last week asking for some documents, which I sent immediately. They didn't even open my documents for a week, and then the underwriter came back asking for some more things including this I94..these people are crazy! Today's my deadline and i still haven't heard anything

Hey,
This is the check list I used when I submitted my AC21 paper work last November when I moved out of my GC Sponsoring employer.
1. Cover letter mentioning you have all the eligibility to invoke AC21 after 180 days of filing your AOS and if your I140 is approved and as long as the roles and responsibilities are same or similar.
2. Attach an employer letter stating the job responsibilties mentioned on your Labour Certification petition along with your designation (Make sure it matches with one on your labour petition too). Make sure your employer adds something like providing employment even after your adjustment of status and its a permanent offer.
3. Attach approved I140 notice and pending I485 receipt
4. Attach your PERM/Regular LC petition.
5. Attach a copy of the AC21 memo which will remind there is a Govt Memo out to support your AC21..
This should help your case. I wish you success.

There are many people who have contributed and will be contributing again. But can I know how would more money would have helped convincing Senator Sessions to say "Yes" for the bill??
I am not sure if more money would have passed the bill in Lame Duck session without Senator Session approving it. Also, the lawyers ask only for the service they render to you. They dont ask money for keeping your application with them and unable to process because of retrogression.
You may want to get in touch with core members if you have questions. They are very prompt in answering questions.Such posts will only create roadblocks to the momentum created on the forum by some of our members. It is time to help rather than ask. We have seen in the lameduck session how close we came to getting the bill passed. If IV was not there, even this much was not possible. We give thousands of dollars to our lawyers, can't we simply give 20 dollars to IV without asking questions and believing in this cause?

Friend agree with what you say, but the pain for Jul 07 Misser's is the maximum (Or atleast one of the worst) in the group. I just happened to miss the windfall because my labor was approved couple of months later. For individuals in our group being able to file for 485 is itself equivalent to getting GC as it enables us to get EAD & AP for self and family, if you ask us we don't mind paying the fee. We don�t know when we will reach the Toll Plaza for the 485 tunnel, or where it is right now or how far are we! Every year is part of hoping till the very end, only our optimism lives on.
I share your pain buddy.I also miss the July 2007 fiasco by 1 month due to my &^@#$% lawyer who took 1 year to apply for labor and kept me in dark .The most painful thing is to see my wife's frustration who inspite of job offers can't join becoz company does not want to sponsor.Just being optimistic is the only hope.

Hi: Does anyone have update on how long is it taking to get PERM approvals now days? I have applied for my 2nd labor under EB3 at end of March 2011.

Guys, don't be disappointed about the Cornyn amendment failing! Here's why:
There is a lot of noise already (thanks to IV generating it) about the injustices that we legals face, and the urgent need to reform the legal GC path. I am thinking that senators have heard our friend Zoe and are now realizing that such reform is needed and are now trying to determine how to best use or spin such a potential reform in their party's favor. Therefore, even people like Clinton voted no, because if the Cornyn amendment had passed it would have denied them the visibility and publicity that a well-organized and publicized bill would generate. Clinton has spoken in our favor before, and I think that she voted nay now in order to later be part of a more visible (and politically-rewarding) solution for us.
What we REALLY NEED TO DO right now is support IV as much as we can, and continue to create noise and get our VOICE be heard, but we need to act as a group, as a team. Work together, be heard everywhere. Enough already with us being quiet, keeping our heads down while paying taxes and taking all the abuse! We will continue to be great citizens, meet all our duties and obligations, but this time we will ALSO BE HEARD! Let's go! We're strong! We can do this!!!!!

Here is my point. I spend several hours 3-4 hours at least every day looking through the forum posts hoping to find ways i can contribute to efforts. There are several ideas that are generated in the forum. But cannot find out who is leading it. All i am saying is if we can have a listing of initiatives with some names associated. So i can contribute to the ones that i can support. I am not sure if i am asking for too much here. I am not a IT guy. I do not know what it takes to post it in the front page.

I think they are talking about EB3 Mexico... Doesn't make any sense for EB3-India as it has already been unavailable.. so what does heavy load signifies... I am positive EB3-I will open up... may be more retrogressed than last availability.. but it will be available on Oct 1...
